Alt + 0151

The image has an orange background with the text "ALT" and "+ 0151" below that. An Em dash, en dash, and hyphen are visible

I’m a fan of a few Alt code entries, most noticeably Alt + 0169 — © if you’re interested. It looks so much better than (c).

There’s a new kid in town and it’s Alt + 0151. Otherwise known as the Em dash, it’s become VERY popular recently. Something to do with AI I believe? (😉)

Want to confuse people — just use em dashes — instead of hyphens (-) and people will immediately doubt whether what they read from you was written by you. Or throw in a mix – this will really confuse people.

I’ve seen people saying you can test whether something is AI by whether it contains em dashes or hyphens — it’s much more complex than that. Like L&D, complex problems rarely have simple solutions.

For information, NONE of this post was written by AI.
