We always say the best episodes of Women Talking About Learning sound like a conversation in a coffee shop so yesterday, we actually recorded one in a coffee shop.

The dynamic was completely different. The guests were more relaxed, the conversation seemed to move differently, and people responded to each other in a way that’s harder to recreate on a screen.

I love recording online and having meetings I can quickly jump into, discuss what needs to be done, and then get back to other work and for many many things, that efficiency is exactly what I want.

But some conversations do need to be in person. Being in the same room changes the principles and informal rules that frame the conversation.

I’ll be doing more recording in the real world I think.
