I’ve referenced the ComComPod previously. It’s a podcast where comedians speak with the host (another comedian) about their art and craft.
A recent episode was a discussion with the late Jeremy Hardy. The host, Stuart Goldsmith, identified that Hardy was adept at linking ideas.
The phrase Goldsmith used was:
Idea choice over word choice.
I thought about it from a LnD perspective and was struck by how often we focus on the minimal and micro when we would have a better and bigger impact on looking at the macro.
The words you use can be scripted, but you need to make them come from a bigger place, a narrative, a string of ideas which, when put together, create a connection for people.
