It’s hard to believe but one year ago I launched my company to an unsuspecting world. One year on, here are some of the things I’ve learnt:
- People will have your back
- You’ll find out who REALLY has got your back
- Connection matters more than content
- You’ll never know who doesn’t know about what you can offer, but that’s not an excuse to make more noise
- The discipline of writing every day for the previous 2 years provided a good work ethic and structure
- When everything is down to you, the quality of your equipment matters – buy cheap, buy twice
- It’s easy to disappear from your network – keep saying hi to your existing connections as much as new contacts
- It’s easier to work hard when you work for yourself
- Your time is valuable so price it appropriately
The biggest thing I have learnt is to make sure to keep having fun. If the fun stops, find how to make it fun again.
