Evaluation gaps

Learning often wants to demonstrate its effectiveness through learning data – the numbers, amounts, times, completions, reflections, assessments and scores.

The business wants to understand learning’s effectiveness through performance data – the speed to competence, error rates, compliance, controls, customer satisfaction, business success.

If you want to be taken seriously, you MUST be able to do both. If you do the first without the second, you’re just proving busyness. If you do the second without the first you’re devaluing the impact of learning.
